i'm kai saran, (b. 2003) a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist from columbia, south carolina. i'm currently based in greensboro, nc and am in my 3rd year of college at north carolina a&t state university. 

 

i did not pursue art seriously as a career until recently, but have been drawing and creating digital art for years. i've been drawn to art for as long as i can remember and happened to grow up in an extremely supportive household, but they often advised me to go to college and NOT major in art. so i split my time between trying to stay on top of classes and working on my pieces.

i work with a range of traditional mediums (acrylic, gouache, colored pencils) as well as digital. my purpose in creating is to illustrate feelings that can't always be so easily explained. the subjects that i'm most drawn to are human sexuality, african-american identity, life & death, religion, and socio-political dynamics.

i hope that  my art will resonate with you on some level!
